Initiated 2002 in Berlin and recently transferred to Los Angeles, Lorma Marti are Stefano de Martino and Karen Lohrmann. They work on spaces in transformation, cultural manifestations and resultant landscapes. Using the framework of spatial installations, mixed media sequences, still, moving and sound images they experiment with developing stories. They have exhibited at Kunstraum Innsbruck, RACA Copenhagen, Rotterdam Biennale, installed open air works for UM 08 Berlin, Prague Contemporary Art Festival and Madrid Abierto, and showed film works at the Downtown Independent Los Angeles, MOCA DC Washington, Bath Film Festival, amongst other institutions. Most recent publications are UPDATE: ALL POSSIBLE WORLDS (2008) and HOW WE SPENT IT (2009). Their next publication WAITING LAND, is their view on speculative land use and the contemporary landscape in Southern Italy.
